What is Monochrome Monday?
Monochrome Monday brings together Isle of Wight chefs, local businesses and guests for an evening of incredible food, good company and fundraising in support of The Burnt Chef Project.
Created by us, Alex and Laurel at Eat Street, the event champions a cause close to our hearts: mental health in hospitality. As ambassadors for The Burnt Chef Project, we want to help make conversations about mental health easier and encourage people in our industry to reach out when they need support.
Our first event in January 2026 brought together 130 guests and raised over £12,000. It showed just how much our Island community can achieve when people give their time, talent and generosity.
On Monday 18th January 2027, we’re returning to East Afton Farmhouse to do it all again. Expect a memorable evening celebrating the people behind hospitality, with great food at its heart and a shared purpose that goes beyond the dinner table.
What to expect at Monochrome Monday 2027
Join us at East Afton Farmhouse on Monday 18th January 2027 for an evening bringing together talented Island chefs, delicious food and fundraising for The Burnt Chef Project.
Food is at the heart of Monochrome Monday. Chefs from across the Isle of Wight will come together to create a dinner for the occasion, sharing their time, skills and creativity to support mental health in hospitality.
January gives us a chance to step back from the busy festive season, catch up with familiar faces and make new connections. Monochrome Monday is an opportunity to enjoy an evening together while supporting a cause that matters to our industry.

Drinks: East Afton will be running a bar on the evening
Dress code and seating arrangements: Black & white, but black tie not compulsory. Seating arrangements to be confirmed nearer the time
We’ll also be announcing the fundraising activities and ways you can get involved throughout the evening.
Meet your chefs for 2027
We’re welcoming back some familiar faces from our first Monochrome Monday, alongside a new addition for 2027.
Each chef will take responsibility for a course, making this a chance to experience the talents of several Island kitchens in one evening.
The menu features 5 continents, representing The Burnt Chef Project’s global reach.
We’ll reveal the dishes closer to the event – in the meantime, meet the people creating them.

Looking back at Monochrome Monday 2026
Our first Monochrome Monday brought 130 guests together at East Afton Farmhouse and raised over £12,000 for The Burnt Chef Project.
Behind that total was a huge community effort. Island chefs shared their time and talent, businesses contributed generously, and our guests helped turn an evening of food and conversation into something we’re incredibly proud of.
For us, it was also a chance to put mental health in hospitality firmly on the table—to talk, connect and remind each other that support matters.

No! We’d love anyone to attend this wonderful evening
Tickets will be available from £70 per person. We are still finalising the details. More info to be announced soon.
Of course! There will be a table ticket option available for parties of 10, or for smaller groups just add a comment to your order
We would encourage guests to wear black and white, although this isn’t compulsory. Black tie is optional
