Monochrome Monday 2026: A Black & White Dining Experience on the Isle of Wight raising money and awareness for The Burnt Chef Project
If you’re looking for something extraordinary to kick off the new year, Monochrome Monday is the answer. Monday 19th January 2026 sees the first fundraising event for The Burnt Chef Project on the Isle of Wight, held at East Afton Farmhouse.
The evening will include
Arrival drink from The Unknown Bar Company
Journey around the World 5 course menu from Island chefs
Raffle and auction
Live entertainment and atmosphere
Black and white theme – not black tie
Fundraising for The Burnt Chef Project, a charity supporting mental health in hospitality
It’s the perfect way to brighten up winter, indulge in incredible food, and be part of something meaningful.
What is Monochrome Monday?
Ever heard of the phrase ‘Blue Monday’? This is apparently the most depressing day of the year, why – it’s weeks after most people’s last pay day (normally before Christmas), the hype of Christmas and New Year have passed, 3 weeks in to New Year’s resolutions, a lot have been broken, and the weather is normally grey, wet and windy (hopefully not for 2026!).
The colours for The Burnt Chef Project are black and white, representing the balance of mental health / wellbeing, similar to the ying and yang concept. So we’ve decided to use this as the theme for the evening – although black tie / formal dress is not required.
Unlike any other Isle of Wight dining event, Monochrome Monday isn’t just about indulgence — it’s about making an impact. All funds raised through ticket sales, raffle and auction will go directly to The Burnt Chef Project, helping to raise funds and awareness for mental health in hospitality.
A special thanks to everyone currently involved, who have kindly agreed to donate their time, services and products for free

Supporting The Burnt Chef Project
As many of you may know, Alex and I are both ambassadors for The Burnt Chef Project, with the concept being close to both of our hearts, having struggled within the industry over the years. The hospitality industry is one of the most rewarding, but also one of the most challenging, sectors to work in. Long hours, pressure, and demanding environments can take their toll on mental health.
The Burnt Chef Project is a non-profit organisation tackling this issue head-on by:
Providing mental health training and support for hospitality professionals
Breaking down stigma around mental health in the industry
Creating healthier, more sustainable workplaces
By attending Monochrome Monday 2026, you’ll not only enjoy a remarkable night out, but also help us shine a light on this vital cause.
