One Year On: The Biggest One-Day Wedding We’ve Ever Catered
The Brief
On Saturday 27 September 2025, we catered Annemarie and Jack’s wedding at Kingston Manor—the biggest one-day wedding Eat Street has ever delivered.
The couple wanted a relaxed, generous dining experience filled with bold Middle Eastern flavours. Rather than a traditional plated wedding breakfast, we created an abundant sharing feast designed to bring people together around the tables.
The scale of the day was significant. We prepared canapés and 142 adult wedding breakfasts, alongside 15 children’s meals, 142 desserts, 140 portions of evening food and a further 28 meals for the suppliers working behind the scenes.
It was also accompanied by the largest and most complicated collection of dietary requirements we had ever managed for a single event.
This wedding required months of careful planning, an enormous amount of preparation and a brilliant team—but it became one of the events we’re most proud to have delivered.
Wedding Details
Venue: Kingston Manor
Guests: 24
Style: Large rustic countryside barn wedding
Season: Early autumn
Menu: Bespoke Middle Eastern menu with pistachio Basque cheesecake for dessert & pulled pork loaded roasties as evening food
Special Touches: Our largest and most complex dietary list to date
The Venue
Annemarie and Jack chose Kingston Manor, a beautiful countryside wedding venue surrounded by rolling fields and views across the Isle of Wight.
The historic manor and its grounds provided a wonderful setting for a large celebration, giving guests plenty of space to enjoy every part of the day.
We had previously catered smaller weddings at Kingston Manor, but this event brought an entirely different set of logistical considerations. Delivering food for this number of guests required careful planning around preparation, equipment, storage, staffing and service timings.
Our mobile kitchen allowed us to bring the facilities we needed to the venue, while months of preparation ensured that every part of the menu could be produced and served efficiently on the day.
The menu
Canapés
The food began with a selection of canapés. These included savoury “Oreos” made with black olive and Parmesan, gougères filled with black Isle of Wight garlic béchamel, lasagne bites, smoked IOW pork belly bites and goat rolls.
The canapé menu gave guests their first taste of the food to come: familiar ideas reworked with unexpected flavours and the distinctive Eat Street style.
Serving several different canapés to such a large number of guests meant creating hundreds of individual pieces, each prepared and finished with the same attention to detail.
The Wedding Breakfast
For the main wedding breakfast, Annemarie and Jack chose a colourful Middle Eastern-inspired sharing feast.
At the centre of the menu was slow-cooked Isle of Wight beef served with a rich Persian walnut and pomegranate sauce.
The beef was accompanied by a table full of dishes:
Zhoug burrata with pomegranate and almonds
Roasted cauliflower and toasted fregola salad with olives and dates
Jewelled rice
Eat Street coloured flatbreads
Chicken and feta pastille with za’atar
Isle of Wight tomatoes with sumac onions, pine nuts and Greek basil
Labneh with dukkah
Beetroot borani
The menu created a relaxed and sociable wedding breakfast while still allowing us to deliver the bold flavours, local ingredients and made-from-scratch food that define an Eat Street menu.
Dessert and Evening Food
Dessert was a plated pistachio Basque cheesecake served with chocolate sauce.
After a substantial Middle Eastern feast, it provided a simple but indulgent finish to the wedding breakfast.
Later in the evening, we served 140 portions of loaded roasties topped with slow-cooked Isle of Wight pulled pork, Isle of Wight beer rarebit and jalapeños.
When the oven failed...
A few days before the wedding, we faced the biggest challenge of the entire event.
Alex was partway through the usual two-day cooking process for the Isle of Wight beef cheeks when our oven failed without warning. When he checked the meat, the oven had not maintained a safe temperature and the beef had been sitting within the food-safety danger zone.
There was no question about what happened next. All 70 beef cheeks—around 35 cows’ cheeks—had to be discarded.
It was devastating, particularly so close to our biggest wedding, but we would never take a risk with the safety of our guests.
Fortunately, we deliberately begin long cooking processes early enough to leave time for something unexpected to happen. We contacted Annemarie and Jack, explained the situation and gave them the choice between sourcing replacement beef cheeks from the mainland or using a different cut of Isle of Wight beef.
They chose to keep the meat local, so we sourced fresh beef from The Butcher Shop in Cowes, covered the additional cost ourselves and reprinted the menus.
The broken oven then created another challenge: delivering a nine-dish wedding breakfast for 157 guests without one of the most important pieces of equipment in our kitchen.
We adapted the cooking plan and brought additional equipment from our HQ, including water baths and our smoker, while also making full use of chafing dishes and air fryers. The menu stayed ambitious, the food remained true to Annemarie and Jack’s plans and guests on the day would never have known what had happened behind the scenes.
Things don’t always go perfectly in event catering. What matters is recognising a problem early, being honest, taking responsibility and having the experience to find a safe solution.
That week tested us, but it also demonstrated exactly what our clients can expect from Eat Street when something unexpected happens.
Behind the Scenes
Although the wedding took place on a single Saturday, the food required days of preparation and months of organisation.
This wasn’t a case of buying prepared food, arriving at the venue and heating it through. The meat needed to be cooked slowly, flatbreads had to be made, salads and accompaniments prepared, hundreds of canapés assembled and every dietary adaptation organised.
The numbers alone were significant:
• 710 individual canapés
• A two-course wedding breakfast for 157 guests
• A nine-dish Middle Eastern sharing feast
• 142 individual pistachio Basque cheesecakes
• 150 freshly made Eat Street flatbreads
• 140 evening meals
• 28 individually adapted dietary meals
• One 20-hour shift
On the day, our team worked across preparation, cooking, plating, service and dietary coordination to keep every element moving at the correct time.
For the guests, the food simply needed to appear looking beautiful, tasting delicious and ready to share. Behind the scenes, it was a carefully timed operation involving a huge amount of preparation and communication.
The Result
Annemarie and Jack’s wedding remains the largest one-day wedding Eat Street has ever catered.
What made us proud wasn’t simply the number of meals we produced. It was that we delivered an event of this size without losing the individuality and attention to detail that are central to Eat Street.
The menu was still created specifically for the couple. The meat came from the Isle of Wight. The dishes were filled with the bold flavours and colour they wanted. Everything was handmade by Alex. Guests with complex dietary requirements were properly considered, and the food remained a memorable part of the celebration.
Large-scale catering doesn’t have to mean generic food, limited choices or standard wedding packages.
This wedding demonstrated that it is possible to serve a large number of guests while still creating something personal, exciting and completely bespoke.
One year later, it remains a huge Eat Street milestone.
Happy first wedding anniversary, Annemarie and Jack—and thank you for trusting us with such an important part of your day.
What AM & J had to say
After returning from their honeymoon, Annemarie & Jack sent us the following message
“We wanted to drop a note to say a huge thank you for the wonderful food you provided on our wedding day and also for all the time and effort you put in beforehand. We have had so many compliments on how delicious (and different!) the food was on the day and we both absolutely loved it too – I am still dreaming about the evening food!!
An extra big thank you as well as we know we had lots of guests and lots of dietary requirements to cater for. The level of coordination and planning required to be able to handle this really does amaze us!”

Beautiful food. Thoughtful hospitality. A wedding your guests will never forget.
On Saturday 27 September 2025, we catered the biggest one-day wedding Eat Street has ever taken on.
Annemarie and Jack’s wedding was a huge milestone for us—not only because of the number of guests, but because of the sheer amount of planning, preparation and attention to detail involved. It also came with the largest and most complicated list of dietary requirements we’ve ever managed for a single event.
One year later, it feels like the perfect time to look back at a wedding that challenged us, pushed us and ultimately showed us exactly what the Eat Street team could achieve.
Planning our biggest wedding menu
Every Eat Street wedding menu is created specifically for the couple. We don’t offer fixed wedding packages or ask people to choose from the same limited list of dishes. Annemarie and Jack’s day was no different.
Together, we created a menu that included [ADD MENU DETAILS], designed around the style of wedding they wanted and the experience they wanted to give their guests.
Delivering a bespoke menu on this scale required months of planning. Ingredients, equipment, staffing, preparation, transport and service all had to be carefully coordinated to make sure everything came together at the right time.
Our largest list of dietary requirement
The dietary list for this wedding was the most extensive we had ever received.
Catering for dietary requirements involves much more than simply preparing a few alternative plates. Every requirement has to be clearly recorded, understood by the kitchen and front-of-house teams, and followed through every stage—from ordering ingredients and preparing the food to plating and serving it to the correct guest.
For Annemarie and Jack’s wedding, we needed to adapt different elements of the menu for [ADD EXAMPLES OR NUMBER OF DIETARY MEALS]. That meant detailed planning, clear labelling and a system that every member of the team could follow during a very busy service.
Although the dietary list added another layer of complexity to an already large event, it was important that every guest could enjoy the meal and feel properly considered—not like their plate was an afterthought.
It remains one of the most complicated dietary plans we’ve produced, and one we were incredibly proud to deliver successfully.
Behind the scenes
The wedding itself took place over one day, but the work behind it began long before 27 September.
[ADD PREPARATION DETAILS: HOW MANY DAYS, WHERE FOOD WAS PREPARED, HOW MUCH EQUIPMENT OR PRODUCE WAS NEEDED.]
On the day, we had a team of [ADD NUMBER] working across the kitchen, service and coordination. From the first preparations through to the final plates leaving the kitchen, everyone had a role to play.
[ADD ANY CHALLENGES, LAST-MINUTE CHANGES OR MEMORABLE BEHIND-THE-SCENES MOMENTS.]
Large weddings can look effortless from the dining room, but behind the scenes they are a carefully timed operation. It takes an experienced team, good communication and plenty of preparation to make sure guests simply see beautiful food arriving at their tables.
A milestone for Eat Street
At the time, this was the biggest single-day wedding we had ever catered—and it remains a day we’re enormously proud of.
It gave us the opportunity to show what Eat Street could deliver on a much larger scale while retaining the personal approach we bring to every event. Even with [ADD GUEST NUMBER] guests and a substantial dietary list, the menu was still designed specifically for Annemarie and Jack.
That balance—delivering at scale without losing the individuality of the food—is what made the day such an important milestone for us.
[ADD A PERSONAL REFLECTION FROM ALEX OR LAUREL.]
One year on, we want to say another enormous thank you to Annemarie and Jack for trusting Eat Street with such an important part of their wedding day. We hope their first year of married life has been filled with just as much happiness as the day itself.
We’d also like to thank the entire Eat Street team and the brilliant suppliers who helped bring everything together.
[ADD AND CREDIT SUPPLIERS.]
Happy first wedding anniversary, Annemarie and Jack—and thank you for making Eat Street history with us.
