A Wedding We Were Especially Proud to Be Part Of

The Brief

When close friends ask you to cater their wedding, it feels a little different.

In August 2025, we were honoured to be asked to cater and coordinate the wedding of friends we’ve known for many years. They wanted a relaxed celebration surrounded by the people who mattered most to them, with great food, plenty of laughter and a day that felt completely personal.

With just 40 guests attending, the focus wasn’t on putting on a huge event. Instead, it was about bringing together their closest family and friends to celebrate in a way that felt authentic to them.

Food was always going to play an important role, so we worked together to create a completely bespoke four-course menu, alongside canapés for the drinks reception and evening food later in the day.

To make the planning process as straightforward as possible, they entrusted us with both the catering and coordination of their wedding. This meant we could not only create a bespoke dining experience for their guests, but also oversee the logistics of the day, ensuring everything ran seamlessly behind the scenes.

Wedding Details

Venue: Kingston Manor

Guests: 40

Style: Small wedding

Season: August

Menu: Bespoke menu including the couples favourite flavours

Special Touches: Wedding cake

The Venue

The wedding took place at Kingston Manor, one of the Isle of Wight’s most beautiful countryside wedding venues.

Surrounded by rolling fields and stunning views across the island, Kingston Manor provided the perfect setting for a relaxed summer celebration. Guests were able to enjoy the grounds throughout the day, moving between the ceremony, drinks reception and wedding breakfast while taking in the surroundings.

One of the things we loved most about this wedding was how comfortable and natural everything felt. With just 40 guests, there was plenty of time for meaningful conversations and the couple were able to spend genuine quality time with every person who had joined them to celebrate.

There was no rushing between tables or worrying about fitting everyone in. Everyone knew each other, conversations flowed effortlessly and the atmosphere throughout the day was warm, welcoming and full of laughter.

The Menu

The menu was designed entirely around the couple and their love of bold flavours, relaxed dining and food that encourages people to gather together.

Guests were welcomed with informal arrival snacks of rosemary focaccia and what can only be described as the best olives we’ve ever tasted.

For the wedding breakfast, tables were treated to Eat Street pittas, muhammara and hummus before guests enjoyed a starter of Isle of Wight tomatoes, whipped feta, fresh basil, crispy baked gouda and romesco sauce.

The main course showcased Isle of Wight beef sirloin with keycap Manis, Korean-inspired beef pastille, sesame beetroot and Bok choi. Vegetarian guests enjoyed roasted cauliflower with beetroot emulsion, sesame beetroot, pak choi and Malaysian murtabak.

Dessert combined cherry and pistachio, with a cherry crémeux, pistachio sponge, cherry sorbet and pistachio tuile bringing the wedding breakfast to a close.

As the evening celebrations got underway, guests enjoyed Eat Street samosas, chickpea curry and homemade chutneys, providing the perfect fuel for the rest of the night’s festivities.

A Cocktail Inspired Wedding Cake

Rather than a traditional fruit cake, the couple chose a Pina Colada wedding cake, reflecting their personalities and adding another fun and personal element to the day.

Like the menu itself, it felt completely unique to them and was a real talking point amongst guests.

Coordination

Alongside the catering, we also coordinated the day.

From managing timings and supplier arrivals to ensuring everything happened when it should, we worked behind the scenes to keep the day running smoothly.

Having one team overseeing both the food and the logistics meant the couple could relax and focus on what really mattered — enjoying their wedding day with the people they love most.

The Morning After

The celebrations didn’t stop when the dancing finished.

The following morning, we returned to serve brunch for family and friends staying on after the wedding. Guests enjoyed homemade granola, cherry and vanilla compote, croissants with bacon jam, queso, slow-cooked eggs and crispy bacon, alongside hazelnut cold brew and green smoothies.

It was the perfect way to round off a wonderful weekend and gave everyone one last opportunity to come together before heading home.

The Result

This wedding was a wonderful reminder that you don’t need a huge guest list to create an unforgettable day.

With just 40 guests, every detail felt personal. There was time for meaningful conversations, exceptional food and genuine moments shared between family and friends.

For us, it was made even more special because these weren’t just clients — they were friends.

Being trusted to play such an important role in their wedding day was a privilege, and seeing them celebrate with the people closest to them made all the planning and preparation worthwhile.

What C & R had to say

Following the wedding, C & R kindly left us the following review:

“We had the absolute pleasure of Eat Street being our caterers and coordinators for our wedding day earlier this month.

We reached out to them after sampling many of their different take away dishes, pop up events and hiring The Eat Street Table (TEST) for my Mum’s 60th birthday, so we didn’t hesitate in choosing them.

Their communication has always been excellent and they patiently made suggestions for different dishes and concepts. We initially had no idea what we wanted, but this didn’t phase them and they were happy to help us to design exactly the right menu.

Due to Alex’s experience and skills, we were lucky that Eat Street could cater for absolutely everything we wanted.

We chose to have drinks on arrival, coordinated by Laurel. We then had freshly baked breads and specially selected olives with a cocktail post ceremony. The wedding breakfast was amazing! A carefully designed and bespoke 4 course meal with special, personalised touches. Every dish had ingredients that we both loved and they worked perfectly together.

We had Eat Street pittas and a selection of dips to start, a Mille-feuille of cheese and Isle of Wight tomatoes, beef sirloin for main and a chocolate, cherry and pistachio themed dessert – many of our favourite foods!

Alex and Laurel sourced specific island produce for us for some of the dishes and we loved having a tasting before the wedding, so that we could make any slight tweaks to the dishes. Alex and Laurel’s knowledge of catering events really helped; they made suggestions that were so useful. It really was so much fun to work with them to develop our perfect menus.

Our evening reception was a different concept again, we had a delicious vegetarian curry dish with Eat Streets signature colourful samosas and chutneys. Packed with colour, textures and flavour!

We were delighted with our dessert table too; which was a selection of sweet treats offering something for everyone. Again, we had personal touches which really made a difference.

Last but not least, Alex baked and created our amazing wedding cake. Working with us to design a cocktail inspired, pina colada cake. It was so different and delicious!

We have lost count of the positive comments that we received on the day about all of the food, it really was one of the big stars of the show! It was so clear that Alex and Laurel took so much time and care in not only the designing and creation of the food but also the coordination of the day. Laurel was able to offer many suggestions on how to best organise all of the little logistical details and they both worked so hard to make it such a wonderful day for us and our guests.

We had people say to us, “we’ve never had such amazing food at a wedding” and things like “I loved every dish, it was so different but so delicious”. Another important part of our day for us, was ensuring that our friends and family with allergies were well catered for. This absolutely happened thanks to Alex and Laurel. They ensured that gluten free dishes were as close to the other dishes as possible, which I know was really appreciated by those guests.

In addition, we decided that we wanted to have a post wedding brunch the day after the wedding. Again, this was excellent. Alex and Laurel provided a delicious array of freshly made smoothies and locally roasted coffee cold brew with granolas, yoghurt, compotes and a really interesting egg and bacon dish with a twist!

We cannot stress enough, how grateful we are to Eat Street, for their commitment and innovation to our wedding day. Thank you so much!

We’re always grateful when photographers share galleries with us, because so much of what we do happens in the details — the table, the plating, the atmosphere, the service and the little in-between moments.

Thank you to Holly for capturing this one so beautifully.
